Role Overview:
IBM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist with a profound focus on Artificial Intelligence to join our innovative team. This full-time, on-site role is designed for an individual with 5 to 8 years of proven experience in leveraging data science and AI techniques to solve complex problems and drive technological advancements. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, deploying, and managing cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning models, contributing directly to our mission of delivering intelligent solutions. You will work within a collaborative environment that encourages exploration, innovation, and continuous learning, applying your expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and advanced analytics to real-world challenges. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant projects, working with state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies within a leading global technology company, specifically supporting initiatives within our Academic/Education functional area.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence models and algorithms using Python and prominent libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Pandas.
* Apply state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to extract valuable insights from large volumes of unstructured text data, building and optimizing models for tasks like sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and text summarization.
* Perform comprehensive data cleaning, preprocessing, and exploratory data analysis on diverse datasets utilizing SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and readiness for model training.
* Deploy and manage scalable AI/ML solutions in various cloud environments, specifically leveraging services from AWS, GCP, and Azure, with a solid understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, researchers, and product managers, to accurately define problem statements, gather detailed requirements, and seamlessly integrate AI solutions into existing products and services.
* Conduct robust exploratory data analysis and create insightful data visualizations using tools such as Matplotlib to communicate complex findings and model performance effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve the performance of deployed AI/ML systems, including regular model retraining and optimization to ensure sustained accuracy and efficiency.
* Contribute to the development of high-quality, robust, and production-ready code, adhering to best practices and utilizing version control systems such as GitHub for collaborative development and code management.
* Potentially contribute to the development or integration of user interfaces for AI applications using front-end technologies like React, Bootstrap, and JQuery to enhance user interaction with AI-powered features.

Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years to Maximum of 8 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist with a strong and demonstrated emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
* Under-Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
* Exceptional proficiency in Python programming, including extensive experience with data manipulation (Pandas), scientific computing (NumPy), and leading machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
* Proven hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including model development, evaluation, and application.
* Strong understanding and practical experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
* Demonstrated experience with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
* Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub, for collaborative software development and code management.
* Ability to perform advanced exploratory data analysis and create compelling data visualizations using libraries such as Matplotlib.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong analytical thinking, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
* Basic understanding or a strong willingness to learn front-end development concepts (React, Bootstrap, JQuery) for creating or integrating AI application interfaces.
